Research programme for social care funding

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)'s Research Programme for Social Care (RPSC) is accepting Outline Applications for their latest researcher-led RPSC funding opportunity. As well as for the RPSC commissioned NIHR James Lind Alliance rolling funding opportunity, and the RPSC commissioned NIHR NICE rolling funding opportunity.
The programme aims to strengthen the evidence base for social care by funding research that improves effectiveness, delivers value for money and creates tangible benefits for people who use social care services as well as for carers. The call is open to projects addressing social care for both children and adults and welcomes a wide range of research designs, prioritising those that are likely to influence practice, policy and system design. A particular focus of this round is children’s social care, with a Highlight Notice encouraging proposals in this area.

Researchers are encouraged to consider pressing issues in social care such as improving outcomes for vulnerable children, reducing inequalities, enhancing mental health support and making better use of data and technology to inform decision-making and service delivery.
