Registration is open for the Marie Curie Research into Practice Conference 2025.
Prominent presenters from across palliative and end of life care will be joining for four days of thematic and spotlight sessions, and abstract presentations. The priority is to bring you the latest research evidence to inform practice and policy, with the aim of improving support for everyone affected by dying, death or bereavement. This is in line with Marie Curie's mission to close the gap in end of life care.
Programme highlights include:
Tuesday 11 February
- 10:00 -12:00: Shaping Tomorrow's Palliative Care: Innovations and Transformations for the Future and conference prizes. A welcome to the conference from CEO Matthew Reed. A panel of experts will discuss the changes needed to link palliative care with hospitals, emergency services and out of hours assistance to improve end of life care for all.
Wednesday 12 February
- 10:00-12:00: Addressing inequities in palliative and end of life care.
- 14:00-15:00: A spotlight on: Understanding Contribution and Challenges Facing Ambulance Services Attending at End of Life: Building the Evidence Base – a Masterclass (inclduing “The Welsh ambulance ‘just-in-case’ service initiative: the RELIEF study”).
- 15:30-16:30 - A spotlight on: Research Priorities for Palliative and End of Life Care.
Thursday 13 February
- 10:00-12:00: Physical Health and Wellbeing – Improving Symptom Management.
Friday 14 February
- 10:00-12:00: Financial insecurity at the end of life.
Each afternoon there will be three spotlight or abstract sessions from 12:30 onwards. Spotlight sessions are one-hour, bitesize presentations designed to shine a light on topics that we know are areas of particular interest and importance in the sector.
