Do you have experience of home-based care?
Sylwch, mae’n bosibl bod gwefannau ac adnoddau allanol yn ddarparu eu cynnwys yn y Saesneg yn unig
A great deal of research has been done within hospitals about patient safety incidents but there is limited evidence about incidents which happened when patients have received health or social care at home. Use your experience of home-based care to help improve future care for patients and those accessing home care services.
The Wales Centre for Primary and Emergency Care Research (PRIME Centre Wales) and Cardiff University would like you to help shape a project focused on gaining a better understanding of and defining the types of harm that may occur while patients are receiving care at home. This will allow organisations and staff to make changes and improve future care for patients and service users.
Who can get involved?
Individuals who:
- have recent experience of receiving home-based care directly themselves or a close family member/friend who has received home-based care
- have recent experience of providing care at home for a close family member/friend or family member
- can attend online meetings and manage emails
- access health and social care services in Wales
You will be asked to join the Patient Advisory Group. This will involve:
- reviewing and contributing to the study and public-facing research materials
- attending meetings every three months, with the first planned for May 2025, and eight meetings in total
- one hour of reading/preparation for each meeting
Contact Dr Deborah Morgan to express your interest to help shape this research study.
Deadline: 1 April 2025, 12:00
If you agree to get involved in the study team will:
- cover carer costs (£30 per hour, plus 30 minutes wrap-around time)
- offer payment for your time with £50 per meeting (attendance for the one-hour meeting, plus one hour of preparatory reading time)
- offer £5 per meeting for working from home costs
