A new project from Cardiff University and the Wales Autism Research Centre, led by Dr Kai Thomas and Grace Williams, a PhD student funded through Health and Care Research Wales, is looking to help guide research on eating disorders in gender diverse, autistic and ADHD populations.
They are asking individuals with lived experience of eating disorders who also identify as trans, autistic or who have ADHD to join their advisory group. Members of the advisory board will work with the project team to review the planned research and advise on important issues within these communities. This will ensure that the perspectives of individuals from these communities with lived experience of eating disorders are sensitively represented within the research.
Taking part will involve three one-on-one meetings each year, over a three-year period, conducted online. These meetings will last about an hour, with various accesibility options available, such as sharing your views verbally, through chat or by providing written responses. You will receive £50 for each session which includes your time spent preparing. See the Information Sheet for futher criteria and benefits.
If you are interested in becoming an advisory board member, please fill in this survey to apply and if you have any questions feel free to email Grace Willaims.
