This year the Health Research Authority (HRA) set up a public involvement matching service to connect up COVID-19 researchers with patients and the public who can help to ensure that vital research is as high quality as possible.
They’ve written a report about what we’ve learned about public involvement in a pandemic (and beyond). The HRA want to share it with the UK research sector and have a conversation about what should be done next.
The HRA launching the report at a virtual event on January 13 2021. HRA Chair Professor Sir Terence Stephenson will introduce the report, there will be a recap its main highlights, and video case studies from some of the patients and the public who helped to improve COVID-19 research on the ground, before opening up the discussion to attendees from the NHS, charity, industry, and patients and the public.
