Supporting care home residents to take part in research

Are you likely to have to make decisions in the future on behalf of a relative or friend living in a care home? Do you know what their wishes and preferences are about taking part in research?

PhD student Brittany Nocivelli, funded by the Health and Care Research Wales Faculty award, would like you to engage in a discussion about the residents’ research participation wishes and preferences, supported by the use of conversation guides and visual aid cards.

She would like pairs of people, including one resident and a trusted person chosen by them (i.e., a relative, friend, or member of staff), to complete some questions before and after having a guided discussion about research.
